The construction of the Kasombo ACROW Bridge in Kabompo District in North-Western Province has been completed.
The Road Development Agency (RDA) in May 2023 embarked on the project to construct Kasombo ACROW Bridge using Zambia National Service (ZNS) as the contractor.
The scope of works includes but is not limited to the following:
- Site clearing;
- Construction of box culverts on the access road;
- Construction of two reinforced concrete abutments;
- Erosion protection works;
- Construction of approach embankments;
- Assembly of the prefabricated steel superstructures;
- Launching of the prefabricated steel superstructures; and
- Ancillary works.
The bridge has since been opened to traffic.
