The rehabilitation of Mungule-Katole Road will facilitate quick transportation of farm inputs and produce to and from the farming community in the area. Travel time and vehicle operating costs shall drastically reduce and generally, a reduction in the cost of doing business will be achieved.
The Road Development Agency (RDA) has embarked on the project to rehabilitate the Mungule-Katole Road in Chibombo District.
The start point for the road is opposite the turn-off to Chieftainess Mungule’s Palace and stretches Northwards to Katole Community School in Chibombo District.
The following works have been done to date:
- Clearing and grubbing-12 kilometres;
- Road formation-12 kilometres;
- Spot gravelling- 2 kilomeres; and
- Culvert installation-5 lines of 900 millimetres diametre culverts.
