engaged to construct the Lumwana-Kambimba Road in North Western Province has commenced early works on the project which will also connect Zambia to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
This is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Project for the design, build, finance, operate maintain and transfer of the Kambimba Border Post and 85 kilometres of roads from the junction of T5 at Lumwana-Kambimba Border Post.
The Concession Agreement was signed on 26th September 2024 with Sandstone Consortium Limited, and the project cost is estimated at US$ 118,934,196.00.

agreed to a 25-year concession period during which the Concessionaire will construct the road, border, and other project infrastructure over the course of two (2) years.
The physical progress for the early works is as follows:
Camp establishment is at 75% complete;
Clearing of trees using local labour is at kilometre 24;
Clearing and grubbing is at kilometre 23; and
Road centre line alignment as reached kilometre 30 and works are ongoing.
