The Government of the Republic of Zambia, through the Road Development Agency (RDA), engaged China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co. Ltd. to undertake the rehabilitation of the road.
The pace of construction has improved considerably over the past two months, with progress now visible on several components of the project. The commencement of asphalt paving marks a major milestone and brings the project closer to completion.
The rehabilitation works include drainage construction, clearing and grubbing, roadbed preparation, construction of the subbase and base course, asphalt surfacing, and installation of road furniture.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2026.
