Speaking during a courtesy call by ZNBS Managing Director, Ms. Mildred Mutesa, RDA Director and Chief Executive Officer Eng. Nelson Chuma underscored the vital role of road infrastructure in supporting economic growth and facilitating development across key sectors, including agriculture, energy, tourism and trade.
Eng. Chuma also highlighted the importance of safeguarding road infrastructure against overloading and vandalism, noting that RDA continues to enforce axle-load control measures through weighbridges while working with communities and local leaders to curb vandalism.
Ms. Mutesa said ZNBS is keen to leverage synergies with RDA in areas such as infrastructure development, housing and financial services for staff.
She noted that the Society has expanded its offerings beyond mortgage financing to include land development, construction finance, investment products and digital banking solutions.
ZNBS also expressed interest in partnering with RDA on infrastructure development supporting its land projects in Chilanga and Mansa.
The meeting further provided an opportunity for ZNBS to showcase its corporate and retail banking solutions, including contractor financing, project finance, supply-chain financing and investment services.
The engagement reaffirmed the value of strategic partnerships between public institutions and financial service providers in supporting infrastructure development and achieving Zambia’s broader socio-economic development goals.
