Construction works of the Kasomeno-Mwenda Toll Road from Kashiba to Mwenda in Luapula Province are recording steady progress.
The contractor has made progress on the construction of embankments at the bridge sites at Chalwe on the Luapula River and the Luongo River near Mwenda. Other works being undertaken are construction of major culverts.
The increased work scope demonstrates the unwavering commitment from both the Government of the Republic Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), GED Africa, and the project sponsor, Duna Aszfalt.
Groupe Europeen de Development (GED) Projects has signed a Concession Agreement with the Zambian Government to finance, design, build, operate, maintain and Toll the Kasomeno-Mwenda Road including a One Stop Border Post (OSBP) and bridge across the Luapula River.
GED has also signed a Concession Agreement to undertake similar works on the DRC side.
